Indonesia confirmed 993 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day increase in the official count to date as the government began to loosen social restrictions under the so-called “new normal” policy.  A survey done by NTU’s Social Resilience Lab and the LaporCOVID-19 (Jakarta Report Covid-19) community revealed that there is low risk perception of COVID-19 among Jakarta residents.  On a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 equals critically low, Jakartans scored 3.46 in the risk perception index. NTU Assoc Prof Sulfikar Amir urged the Jakarta government to strengthen publicity efforts and raise public awareness of the virus.
