    MOE Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 1:

Research proposals of project values <$100,000, over 3 years. All forms are available and to be submitted through NORA.

Grant Variation

(Without change in total grant amount)

Variation of funds involves the change in forgoing originally approved items/ requiring additional or new items under equipment, consumable items or manpower.
Project Amendments
  • Changes to Project (Annex A)
  • Extension of Project Completion Date (Annex B)
  • Termination/Lapse of Project (Annex C)​
Nationality Waiver form ​PI must seek prior approval from the Grantor for hiring of other nationalities apart from Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. 
Annual Progress Report​

The reporting cycle is every 12 months. 

Final Report

To be submitted within 3 months from the date of completion.

Grant Variation involves the change in forgoing originally approved items/ requiring additional or new items under equipment, consumable items or manpower.
Note:
Variation from Research Scholarship to other categories is not allowed regardless of variation amount

Project Amendments

  • Changes to Project (Annex A)
  • Extension of Project Completion Date (Annex B)
    (Request should be made only in the expected last year of the project due date and request should reach MOE at least 3 month before project end date)
  • Termination/Lapse of Project (Annex C)
Annual Progress Report

PIs should submit the annual progress report through the AC(R) Office.

Final Report​

PIs should submit the final report through the AC(R) Office.

 

SSS Start-up Grants (SUG):
This is awarded to new hires as seed money to kickstart their research. The SSS-SUG forms are not applicable to Nanyang Assistant Professor (NAP)'s NAP-SUG scheme, which has different forms provided by the Research Support Office.

Note: A maximum of 12 months extension can be granted and is subjected to final approval by AD-R. SUGs given to new hires are non-transferrable, unless otherwise approved.
